Visualizing Empowerment
I’m going to #keepitreal this morning...
I always try to write my blog posts early so that I am not cramming my thoughts together last minute. This was not one of those weeks. After being out of town and juggling all sorts of personal and professional responsibilities, I have allowed #stress and #avoidance to creep up and disrupt my routine. It also appears surprise snow in mid May (thanks Colorado) has killed my internet both at home and in my office, crushing my last minute cram plan.
When life becomes overwhelming, it is easy to feel disempowered. Feelings of incompetence, and insecurity arise and #impostersyndrome runs wild. It is tempting in these moments to retract despite the progress we’ve made. When this happens we must #pause and challenge the voice of defeat. Feeling #empowered does not come from success. It comes from embracing the curveballs and setbacks along the way. Instead of reacting, take a step back and recognize you are still in control. You get to decide where you go from here.
Remember that we all struggle! No one is immune to that voice of defeat. Choose how you would like to respond.
